Google Calendar Sync Issues
Google Calendar sync usually just works. When it doesn't, the cause is almost always one of three things: an expired Google OAuth grant, a stale connection that needs a fresh push, or a time-zone mismatch on the TrailerBase side.
Step 1: Reconnect Google Calendar
Google expires the OAuth grant periodically for security — usually every 6 months, or sooner if you changed your Google password. When it expires, the Calendar Sync chip in the Calendar page header shows Reconnect required.
Click the chip, then click Reconnect Google Calendar. Sign in, approve the scopes, and sync resumes. Any reservation that failed to push during the expired window will retry on the next change to that reservation, or you can force a full re-push with Step 2.
Step 2: Force a Full Backfill
If events are missing in Google, open the Calendar Sync drawer and click Sync now. TrailerBase walks every eligible reservation and pushes (or re-pushes) each one. Existing Google events are matched by their TrailerBase ID and updated in place — no duplicates.
Step 3: Fix Time Zone Mismatches
If events are showing up at the wrong hour — a 9 AM pickup appearing as 6 AM or 3 PM — it is a time zone issue on your tenant settings.
- Go to Settings > General.
- Set Time Zone to your local business time zone (America/Phoenix, America/Chicago, and so on).
- Save.
- Open the Calendar Sync drawer and click Sync now to repush events with the corrected time zone.
Step 4: Still Off?
For persistent issues, screenshot both sides — your TrailerBase dashboard and the Google event — and send them to [email protected]. Include the time zone of each device and the exact event you're worried about. Most sync issues are resolved within one business day.
