SMS Messaging Consent & Opt-In

Who receives text messages

TrailerBase is a rental-management platform used by trailer rental businesses (“operators”). The SMS program sends messages to a single, self-selected audience: an operator who affirmatively opts in to SMS notifications for their business — either by checking the SMS-consent box when creating their account or by turning on SMS notifications in their account settings. Messages go only to the mobile number that operator provides.

We do not send marketing or promotional texts, and we do not text renters/consumers as part of this program. Every message is a transactional or account/operational notification the operator asked to receive (see the message types below).

The opt-in control

Opt-in is offered in two places, and is always an explicit, affirmative choice that is OFF / unchecked by default and never bundled with account sign-up or any other agreement:

On the account registration page (trailerbase.io/register): a dedicated, unchecked SMS-consent checkbox — separate from the Terms of Service agreement — with the full disclosure shown at the checkbox. Checking it is optional; when checked, the operator provides the mobile number the messages will be sent to. Consent is recorded with a timestamp at that moment.
In Settings → Notifications, behind the operator’s own login: a separate SMS toggle that is OFF by default, shown with the same disclosure. This lets an operator who skipped it at sign-up opt in later.

Program disclosure

Message types: booking confirmations, payment receipts, rental reminders, cancellation notices, contract-signed confirmations, and operational alerts about the operator’s account and rentals. Transactional/account only — no marketing.
Message frequency varies based on account activity and notification settings.
Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier’s standard messaging and data charges apply to all SMS messages.
Opt-out: reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time (or turn SMS off in Settings). After you reply STOP we send one confirmation and stop messaging that number.
Help: reply HELP to any message, or email [email protected].
Consent is not a condition of purchase or of using the Service, and SMS is OFF by default (never pre-selected).

Your mobile data is never shared

No mobile information, opt-in data, or messaging consent will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the Text Message services themselves. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in / consent information are used solely to deliver the messages described above, and are shared only with our SMS delivery provider (Twilio) strictly to transmit messages you have opted into.
