What the Overview Is

Reports > Overview is the one screen to open at the start of the week or month. It pulls together the four KPIs that most define your business, shows a trend chart, generates a short AI narrative, and offers one-click links to the deeper reports where the detail lives.

Think of it as a cockpit gauge cluster. If a gauge is off, you drill into the underlying report. If everything looks right, you move on.

Top KPIs

Four KPI cards sit at the top. Each card shows the value for the current period, the value for the prior period, and the percentage change.

Revenue

Total revenue recognized in the period — booking fees, damage waivers, delivery, and add-ons, net of refunds. Revenue recognized dates from return, not from payment, so the number reflects fulfilled work.

Bookings

Total count of bookings completed in the period. A booking is counted when it is marked returned, regardless of duration.

Average Booking Value

Revenue divided by Bookings. This is a blended figure — trailer mix and duration both affect it, so month-over-month changes are worth a second look.

Utilization

Percentage of possible booking days that were actually booked, across your active fleet. A trailer available for 30 days that was rented 18 days contributes 60 percent. Multiple trailers are averaged.

Each card is clickable and deep-links to the underlying report with filters pre-applied.

Revenue Trend Chart

Below the KPIs sits a revenue trend chart. Defaults:

  • Timeframe: last 12 months.
  • Granularity: monthly.
  • Comparison: prior year, shown as a faint line.

You can change granularity to daily or weekly, and swap comparison to prior period instead of prior year. Hover any point to see the exact value and a tooltip breaking revenue into categories.

AI Summary

Below the chart, an AI Summary paragraph reads the data and describes what changed and why. For example:

Revenue grew 12 percent vs. prior month, driven mainly by a 9 percent lift in utilization on enclosed cargo trailers and a handful of high-value event bookings in the final week. Cancellations dropped slightly. Watch: maintenance spend on the Big Tex dump grew faster than its revenue this month.

The summary updates every time the data does, so it is always current. Think of it as a starting point for your own analysis, not a replacement for it.

Below the summary are cards linking to:

  • Revenue Reports — month, trailer, type, year-over-year detail.
  • Booking Reports — duration, completion, cancellation, seasonality.
  • Fleet Utilization Reports — per-trailer utilization and per-trailer P&L.
  • Maintenance Cost Analytics — spend per trailer, category mix, cost per mile.
  • Reviews Insights — sentiment and themes.
  • Customer Insights — top customers, repeat rate.

One click takes you to the right place with your current period filter preserved.

Date Range and Comparison

At the top-right, a date range picker controls the entire page. Preset ranges (This Month, Last Month, Quarter, Year to Date, Last 12 Months) or custom ranges. Changing the range updates every KPI, the trend chart, and the AI summary simultaneously.

Exporting

Click Export in the top-right to download a PDF snapshot of the overview. The PDF is formatted for printing or for attaching to monthly owner updates. A CSV export option includes the underlying numbers for further analysis.

Tips

  • Open this screen first thing Monday. Fifteen minutes here sets the agenda for the week.
  • Read the AI summary, then challenge it. It is a starting point — not the ground truth.
  • Save a comparison view for year-over-year by setting date range and comparison and using Save View.
