Publishing your website

Publishing is the moment the work you have done in the editor becomes a real, public website. The whole process takes about 30 seconds and is fully reversible.

Step 1 — Pick your subdomain

Every TrailerBase site is published on a free subdomain in the form {yourname}.trailerbase.site.

1. Go to Website Builder > Publish.
2. Enter the subdomain you want in the Your address box. Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only.
3. Click Check availability.

The system checks in real time. If your preferred name is taken, you will see suggestions (adding your state abbreviation, location, or a short suffix usually works).

Tips for picking a good subdomain:

• Keep it short and memorable.
• Use the name customers already call you.
• Avoid hyphens if you can — they are hard to say over the phone.
• If you plan to eventually use a custom domain, the subdomain matters less, but still pick something clean.

You can change your subdomain later, and we will 301-redirect the old address to the new one so no traffic is lost.

Step 2 — Review your pre-launch checklist

Above the Publish button, you will see a short checklist. The editor refuses to publish until every required item is green:

• Logo uploaded.
• Business name and contact phone set.
• At least one trailer in inventory (so the Trailer list page is not empty).
• Home page hero headline filled in.
• SEO title set on at least the home page.

Optional-but-recommended items show as yellow warnings:

• SEO descriptions on every page.
• A cover photo on every trailer.
• A filled-out About page.
• A business address for local SEO.

Step 3 — Click Publish

Click the Publish button. The system takes about 5-15 seconds to build and distribute your site to the global CDN. When it is done you will see a green success bar with your live URL. Click the URL to see your site as the world will see it.

That is it. You are live.

Republishing edits

Any change you make after launch stays in the draft until you publish again. The workflow is:

1. Edit in the builder.
2. Preview on desktop and mobile.
3. Click Publish.
4. Change is live in seconds.

The live site does not update automatically. This protects you from half-finished edits accidentally going out and lets you work on a major redesign safely in the draft while the current site keeps taking bookings.

Revision history

Open Publish > Revision history to see every published version over the last 90 days. Each entry shows:

• Publish date and time.
• Who clicked Publish (if you have team members).
• A thumbnail preview of the home page at that version.
• The first line of any change notes you added.

Click any entry to preview it. Click Restore this version to instantly roll the live site back to that point. Restoring is itself a new revision, so you can un-restore if you change your mind.

Unpublishing

If you ever need to take the site down, click Unpublish in the publish panel. The subdomain starts showing a simple "coming soon" page. Your content and settings are preserved — re-publishing brings everything back exactly as it was.

Sharing the link

Your site is public and indexable by search engines the moment you publish. Share the URL everywhere — Google Business Profile, Facebook, email signatures, business cards, quote emails. Every placement is a new door into your booking funnel.
