Customizing your website

Once you have a template or AI draft in place, customization is where the site becomes yours. Everything happens inside the visual editor, and every change is previewable before you publish.

Section visibility toggles

Every page is built from stackable sections — hero, trailer grid, testimonial, FAQ, CTA, footer. Click any section to reveal a visibility toggle.

  • Show keeps it live.
  • Hide removes it from the published site but keeps the content in the draft so you can turn it back on later without rebuilding.

This is the easiest way to simplify your home page without deleting anything. Launch with just the essentials, then progressively re-enable richer sections as you have the photos and content to fill them.

Brand colors

Open the Branding panel in the left sidebar. You will see three color slots:

  • Primary — buttons, links, highlights.
  • Accent — secondary elements, badges, icons.
  • Background — the dominant canvas color.

Pick from the suggested palette or enter your own hex codes. The editor auto-generates contrast-safe text colors so your headlines stay readable no matter what you pick.

Upload a logo under Branding > Logo. We recommend a transparent PNG or SVG at least 400 pixels wide. The builder automatically creates a smaller version for mobile, a square version for favicons, and a light/dark variant if your primary logo does not show up on both backgrounds.

Hero image

The hero is the first thing visitors see, so it matters most. Click the hero section, then Replace image. You can:

  • Upload a photo from your computer.
  • Choose one from your TrailerBase trailer photo library.
  • Pick from the built-in stock library (searchable by keyword).

The editor enforces a minimum resolution so a grainy photo never ships. For best results, use a horizontal photo at least 2400 pixels wide.

Editing content inline

Click any headline, paragraph, or button label and type. There is no separate "content CMS" to learn — the site is the editor. Formatting is handled automatically so your type stays consistent with the template.

For longer pages (About, FAQ), click the section header to open a rich-text panel with bold, italic, bullets, links, and image embeds.

SEO per page

Every page has its own SEO panel in the right sidebar:

  • SEO title — shown in the browser tab and in search engine results. Aim for 50-60 characters.
  • SEO description — the snippet that appears under the title in search results. Aim for 150-160 characters.
  • Social share image — the preview card shown when someone pastes your link in a text or on social media.

The editor shows a live Google preview and a social preview as you type so you can see how each page will appear before you publish.

Mobile preview

At the top of the editor, toggle between Desktop and Mobile previews. More than half of your traffic will be mobile, so always check both views before publishing.

Common things to check on mobile:

  • Hero headlines should be short enough not to wrap three times.
  • Key calls-to-action should be visible without scrolling.
  • Photos should not feel cramped or awkwardly cropped.
  • Forms should be thumb-friendly.

Saving and publishing

Every change autosaves to the draft. The draft is private — only you see it. When you are ready to push changes live, click Publish in the top-right and the new version replaces the live site in seconds.

Undo and revision history

Every change is reversible. Use Cmd/Ctrl-Z for small undo steps or open Revision history to roll back to any published version from the last 90 days.
